Ryen is a Partner Research Director at Microsoft Research in Redmond. He leads the language, learning, audio, and privacy (LEAP) research area. Previously, Ryen led applied science for Cortana and was chief scientist at Microsoft Health. He is also an affiliate professor at the University of Washington (CSE, iSchool), Editor-in-Chief of ACM Transactions on the Web, and an ACM Fellow.
